I don't really consider myself to be a singer, more of a whining bastard behind a microphone. Singing requires skill and control, of which I have neither. As I contribute lyrics to my current band, some of which contain dubious subject matter, I thought it unfair to make someone else sing them. I prefer the burden of reciting my embarassing lyrics rest on my shoulders. Due to my lack of skill in this department, I'm a big fan of having my voice obscured by copious amounts of slap-back echo.
