Many years ago I met a guitar builder by the name of Tim Lovell. He had a shop a few minutes from my house and I bought a footswitch from him. We got talking and became friends. He got the idea to start buliding amps and would invite me over to pick my brain while we drank and experimented on an amp he was building based on a 5F6-A Bassman. He ended up selling it to a friend of mine.
Years later, my friend decides to sell the amp as he was to move overseas. He offered it to me at a price I could not refuse. After giving it a good playing I got in touch with Tim who gave his blessing for me to make some modifications. As it now stands, it's half way between a Marshall JTM45 and a plexi. It runs three 12AX7's into a pair of KT66's, with a GZ34 rectifier. At a guess, it puts out around 40 watts and screams. Yep, sounds like a 60's Marshall - totally sweet!
